How do we want to live, move, recreate, work ... in the city of 2030? Like most cities Ghent is facing several global challenges (climate change, demographic changes ...) that have an impact on the way we spatially plan the city. But space is scarce. Sustainable, creative solutions are needed. That is why the City of Ghent has created a Spatial Structural Vision 2030. This vision focuses on a ‘citizen-centered design approach’ to create opportunities and practices for citizens, (social) entrepreneurs and policy makers towards more liveable, sustainable and sociable urban futures. From the very start of the project a vast participation and co-creation process was implemented.
